***Video (below) and Live Webinar***
Wednesday the 1st of August 2012, at 7pm International Time (GMT) or 8pm British Summer Time
One of the primary reasons that people study hypnosis is that, on some level, they have a desire to become a more influential force in their lives, and the lives of those around them.
In the previous video I put up – The Loops that Run Your Life – I discussed a little about how we organise out realities and what drives the ‘hypnotic loops’ from which our experience emerges. Understanding yourself on this level is a key element in becoming a more influential person in your life and becoming more capable of steering your life where you want it to go. But it is not the only element – just the first of what I call the three primary dynamics of personal influence.
There are 3 primary dynamics of personal influence are:
1. Self-to-self influence
2. Self-to-other influence
3. Other-to-self influence
In this I am introducing the 3 primary dynamics and discussing a little of how they relate to each other. But please note…
The video is just an introduction!
If you would like to learn more, I will be going in much deeper via a live webinar to be hosted right here on this blog post, on:
Monday the 1st of August 2012, at 7pm International Time (GMT) or 8pm British Summer Time.
If you are interested in becoming an adept personal influencer, I would love for you to join me on this call, and even more so, join in the discussion – you can ask any questions you would like to ask via the Q&A box further down the page!
OK, enjoy the video – and I look forward to webcasting to you on Wednesday.
All the very best

July 27, 2012Hi, James. Before I watch this vid, I wanted to comment again on the last one where you talked about getting people busted out of their negative loops. I’ve just been studying Coherence Therapy (formerly known as Depth Oriented Brief Therapy) and it seems like the perfect tool to help your clients get out of that negative frame. Thought you might be interested. There’s a ton of information at coherencetherapy.org, but basically it’s the idea that there’s a very valid unconscious reason why someone is stuck, they’ve created the symptom unconsciously to fulfill some protective function, and the client can discover that reason via simple techniques. They are then free from compulsively following that directive and can consciously choose a better way to get that need met, whatever it happens to be. Please let me know what you think.
Also, I’ve shared your technique for the ideodynamic lever for use as a cravings reduction tool with my practicing substance abuse professor. She was quite intrigued.

July 27, 2012Beautiful, James. I’m very happy that you are sharing these profound concepts with us. I did want to point out, however, that there is one group of people who are already extremely adept at influencing others in a negative way. Sociopaths as a whole seem to be born with a natural gift that allows them to gas light you into knots of confusion and self-destruction. Breaking down these principles of influence the way you have not only gives change workers clear tools to use for the good of their clients and themselves, but may also allow someone to detect when they are being influenced to their own detriment.

July 28, 2012Absolutely Laura, and I will be talking more about this aspect in the webinar because it is such an important part of managing other-to-self influence.
It also connects with intent and ecology in influence, and for me, is part of what differentiates healthy influence from unhealthy manipulation.
All the very best

July 29, 2012Another way of view what you are saying here, James, is identifying the “belief patterns” that influence our lives! So, for example, co-dependent individuals are most highly influenced by others. Children are most influenced by the beliefs of their parents and teachers, later by their peers, and as young adults we are strongly influenced by marketing/advertising. This is seen most dramatically when I look at the way men are influenced by beliefs around “masculinity”. Men can and do get stuck in living the beliefs of others around what it means to be “masculine”.

August 2, 2012Any chance for a replay of the webinar?
Laura
August 2, 2012I couldn’t make the webinar, much to my dismay. Love to see a vid, though!

August 4, 2012If there is a chance of a replay would love to view. Learning and talking about influence from the world around us and from within ourselves and being able to use this as a way to help clients understand, re-frame and open up their own perceptual loops is an excellent resource.
Thank you James for sharing your knowledge and time which is most appreciated.
