Hypnosis ‘Induction’ Ritual – Classic Hand Drop

If you like this, please ‘like’ and share!

I have here another video on hypnosis ‘induction’, this time looking at the classic Hand Drop.

The Hand Drop is a popular rapid ‘induction’ that is quite simple in structure, but has some subtlety required in the handling in order for it to run smoothly. Here I am sharing a few handling tips along also with a few important ‘don’ts’!

Again, as you are watching this, remember it is being presented within the context of the Hypnosis Without Trance format, so the aim here is to build responsiveness and create certain frames through the ‘ritual’ of the piece. For better understanding of this, see the additional video at the bottom of the page (if you have not seen it already!).

Nice to see you’re still coming out with a lot of material James. I really am looking forward to that covert hypnosis set you’re doing!

I am especially interested in learning how to use my body language to its full potential. Do you have any books about how I can use my hands and my body to really punctuate my points, like all the best speakers? I notice them using their hands to emphasize what they’re saying, and their full bodies.

Also looking forward to this rapid induction set. Looks very impressive and while that isn’t always a good reason to do things that can surely build credibility.

      Hi John

The set will be being launched officially on Thursday 21st February, but if you are an HWT subscriber, you will get an opportunity for early access at a members only discount.

My best recommendation for the time being on Non-Vernbals for speakers is to model good speakers. Remember, all meaningful movement sits against a backdrop of stillness, so learn to be still (relaxed but moving minimally) when you speak, and then start to work on vocal expressiveness, and allow the body to move as it needs to to express the intended feel and/or emotion.

This is a rich subject indeed, but that should get you started.

      All the very best

I like it James. I too am looking forward to your covert hypnosis set. Could you give a brief outline of some of the things the covert hypnosis set will cover at least, as you think now?

      Hi Laurence

It will cover a lot more about how non-verbal influence supports and underpins the languaging work than most other approaches to Conversational Hypnosis. Also stuff of psycho-social dynamics (because understanding how people work is important to understanding how to influence them ‘hypnotically and otherwise).

Anyhows – it is a few months away yet! Got to finish the Self-Hypnosis first!

      All the very best

      Hi Richard

Sorry to hear of your loss and grief. Grief is a natural process, so it moves through. The only question is ‘how quickly?’ You don’t want to rush grief… to ‘get over it’ but you do want to make the most useful and supportive meanings around the events. If you can do this… understand the events in a way that serves… then the process will move through smoothly.

I do not think that trying to hypnotise people out of their grief is likely to be very effective! Do NOT try to convince your family to be happy (‘convincing’ as a strategy and attitude is weak.) Just help them to make better sense of thinks – sense that serves. What that sense is will be different for each person. Recognise people’s entitlement to be sad at their loss. Pace it, but lead towards more supportive meanings.

      All the very best

      James
