O.K. People…
To continue the ‘what if it doesn’t work’ theme, I have a video for you showing me totally screwing-up during a hypnosis session! But…
I also manage to pull it all back on line. The key, when this happens, is to NOT react like it is a failure, before utilising the failure to re-build the hypnotic loop.
This clip is taken from last weekend’s (13th/14th Feb 2010) HWT Live Workshop. The session began with a handstick, and we pick it up from the end of that. I have added notes along the bottom so as you can follow what goes wrong and how it is recovered in detail.
Enjoy!

If you really want to master rolling with failure, I would recommend getting hold of The No-Fail Protocol, which is a whole system dedicated to just this!

February 17, 2010Nice work, James.
Just goes to show that if you stay in state yourself then you can lead the client along a number of routes. And as we know – there are more routes through the forest than just the well worn paths…..

February 17, 2010Another interesting video. Showing “failure” is rare in any capacity. For those of us just cutting our teeth in hypnosis seeing how to adjust when things don’t go as expected is often more valuable than seeing another flawless session.
Thanks.

April 11, 2011Just a thought, it seems here that when you said ” there was an interesting thing that happened your finger released and thats a weird thing isnt it.” it left the option for him to search for what was the interesting thing that happened and he chose to tell you what he thought happened. still playing your game and giving you an unconsious response that his hand was freezing which is a phenomina. however instead of joining him and agreeing and utilizing his experience you discarded it and went your way. which is when he stopped following.
so i guess you could have utilised his freezing and taken it from there.
just a thought.
